With three years after the release of Windows Vista, Windows 7 was released for general availability from Oct, 22, 2009. This Windows 7 Version of Microsoft Windows and it is a series of Operating Systems from Microsoft for using on PCs, Home and Business Desktops, Laptops, Notebooks, Tablet PCs and Media Center. Windows 7 will be succeeded by Windows 8 in the Future. Whereas Windows Vista interdened a number of new features, Windows 7 is ment to be more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line, with being compatible for Applications and Hardware with which Windows Vista is already Compatible.
Presentaions given by Microsoft in 2008 gave importance to multitouch support, a redesigned Windows Shell with a new taskbar, reffered as a supportbar, a home networking system called home group and performance improvements.
In Windows 7, standard applications like Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker and Windows Photo Gallery were not included as was done in the prier releases of Microsoft Windows, but they were offered seperatly, free of charge as part of Windows Live Essentials.
Windows 7 includes memorous new features, like advances in touch and handwriting recognition, support for Virtual hard disks, better performance on multicore Processors, improved Boot performance, Direct Access and Kernal improvements. Windows 7 also added support systems using heterogenious Graphics Cards from different Vendors, a new version of Windows Media Center,Gadgets for Windows Media Center and improved Media Features, the XPS Essential Pack and Windows Power Shell and an improved Calculator version, which includes programmer and statstics models along with unit Conversion.
New items like clear type Texttuner Display colour Calibration wizard, Gadgets, Recovery, Trouble Shooting, Workplace center, Location and other sensors, credential Manaher, Biometric Devices, System icons and Display are some of the new items added in Microsoft Windows 7.Windows Security Center has been renamed as Windows Action Center. This encompases both Security and maintenance of the Computer.
Windows 7 supports images in the RAW image format through the addition of Windows imaging Component, which enabled image decoders, which enables Raw thumbnails, previewing and metadat display in Windows Explorer, also enables full size viewing and slideshows in Windows Photo Viewer and Windows Media Center.
Windows 7 made biggest Visual Changes in the Taskbar by replacing the Quick Launch toolbar with pinning applications to the taskbat. Buttons for pinned applications are integrated with the Task buttons. These buttons also enable the jump lists features to allow easy Access to common tasks and this Toolbar also allows the re-ordering the Taskbar Buttons, as well.
